Just Today

Out side my window...is is cloudy but warm. We should have temps in the 70's today.
The time is...8:08 am
Today I feel...blessed! God is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am thinking...about taking Ashley for her license this morning.
At the moment,I am thankful...I don't even know where to start. God has blessed me so much more than I deserve. I am thankful to be alive and able to enjoy the life He has given me.
I am going...to eat breakfast shortly:)
I am wearing...a blue track suit
I wish...you all a wonderful day:)
I am reading...Calm my anxious heart by Linda Dillow
I am working on...my writing assignments...grrrrr
I am hoping...the weather will be good this weekend.
I am hearing...Lacy talking to Jada....2 cute
Around the house...things look pretty good:) I went on a cleaning spree this morning. I woke up in a cleaning mood:)
One of my favorite ...things about the morning is the newness in it. It's a new day with new starts and new ideas. It's the chance to start over all fresh and new. It's like a new white piece of paper... it's up to me what I want to put on it/in it.

It makes me think of the day when I found Jesus. I was lost. I was dirty. I was like a crumbled piece of paper. I wasn't fresh and far from white and clean. I was covered with this and a little of that. I had broken pieces and rips here and there, and the marks that life had left behind, but then God stepped in. He saw this crumbled piece of paper "me" and He said this won't do.
He saw something that day and decided I was worth saving. He gave me a new sheet of paper all white and clean and a brand new start. He gave it to me to use for His glory. For that, I am ever indebted ...God is good!!!!!

You know you're too busy when...

You make yourself notes and leave them all over the house so you don't forget something.
I was gonna be watching baby Samantha early today (6:15 am) so I made myself a note to be watching/ready for her this morning.
I'm guilty of being to busy, because I have to do this all the time. Right now I have 3 notes I've left through out my house.
Then my hubby "Brent" decided he would leave me a note of his own *smiles*
It read, "Love Hubby, Everyday". Do you think he needs a little more attention?!?...lol

When you thought I wasn't looking...

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you feed astray cat,
and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me
and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I heard you say a prayer,
and I knew there is a God I could always talk to
and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick,
and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing
and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it
and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good
and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes
and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw that you cared
and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good
and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked at you and wanted to say,
"Thanks for all the things you did, when you thought I wasn't looking."

Before I was a mom

Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on, Pooped on, Spit on, Chewed on, Peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts, and my body.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night, every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment,
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

What's happening in Sandy's world?!?

I guess it's time to catch up:) All is well around here. Other than the scare with my mom, things have been some what calm.
We did get snow this past weekend...not the 4-6 inches they predicted, but we did get to see a few beautiful flakes fall...I loved it!
Anna and Corey came over and spent the night, just in case the weather got bad. I enjoyed having them here. We all set around ,watched movies, and had a good family time together.
On Friday, I went and spent the evening with my Nanny. She looked really good and was feeling better. She had a spell with her heart last week, but meds fixed it...Praise God!
On Saturday, Ashley, Katie, and me went and spent part of the day with mom. I think it cheered her up:) We came in and hubby had supper on the grill.
Sunday, we went to church service and then came home and spent the rest of the day wrapped up in blankets,reading/ studying, watching snow fall, watching movies, and enjoyed being together as a family:) It was a very relaxing/calm weekend for me...believe it or not.
Today, I got up and had to take Jon to get his bottom braces put on. After that, I spent the rest of the day, until just now, finishing out our school day. It's been kinda a busy day and our schedule was a little off,but it's been good:)
Well, that's all I can think of for now. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too.
Hugs,
Sandy

Update on my mom

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to update you all on my mom. She was feeling better last night. I didn't take her to the hospital ,because time I got to her house she was feeling better, or she acted like she was and she didn't want to go. She does have an appointment to go see another vascular doctor to get another opinion, because the one she is seeing says he can't really do anything else about her feet and I can't even imagine how she must feel. She says everything that touches her feet (socks, shoes, blankets, etc) hurts her feet even more.
Her feet didn't look nearly as blue/swollen as they did on Friday. However, they are really cold meaning the circulation is not that good and they are hurting constantly. She says it feels like they are asleep/tingling all the time and having diabetes/heart problems puts her at risk of losing them. She has three places/blisters that have came up on her feet in the last couple of weeks,so I am really concerned about her health.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you all,
sandy

My Computer Prayer

Every night I lie in bed, this little prayer inside my head,
God bless my children and my mom and dad...

And God, there's just one more thing I wish you would do, if you don't mind me asking...
just bless my computer too?

Now I know, that it's not normal to bless a small machine
but listen just a second and I'll try to explain...

You see, this little metal box holds more than odds and ends.
Inside those small components rest a hundred loving friends.

Some, its true, I've never seen and most I've never met
we've never shaken hands or ever truly hugged, and yet...

I know for sure they love me by the kindness they give
and this little scrap of metal is how I get to where they live.

By faith is how I know them much the same as I know you...
by sharing my life it brings them close, so if its ok with you...

Just take an extra minute from your duties up above...
to bless this little hunk of steel that is filled with the friends I LOVE.

Thoughts to ponder

The things that hedge us in, the things that handicap us, the tests that we go through and the temptations that assail us...draw us closer to the Lord so that the testimony of our lives will count more for God...When we have limitations imposed upon us we do our best work for the Lord, for then we are most dependant on Him.

What do stay home moms do all day?

One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his house.

His children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the dirt with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.
The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house.
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened. He found her lounging in the bedroom, still curled in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"

She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and ask me what in the world I did today?"
"Yes" was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

Update on Lil Bay

I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for the prayers for little Bailey. She is doing much better today:) Actually, I'm about to go get her and her sister for the weekend,so I'm really excited about that. I didn't think she would be well enough to come this weekend, but her sister called and asked was we coming to get them, so we are.
Anyhow, thank you all sooooooooo much for thinking of my little sweet pea! Our prayers were answered. God is good!
