Little Boys

Precious baby Carter
Little Boys
Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.

They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6

She's A MeMe's Girl...

I remember the day we found out she was a girl. We were ALL ecstatic. Thank you Lord for our little blessing.
One day, someone asked me did I like little girls better than little boys, because I always have girls. My answer was no. I really like them both. We've just been called with more foster girls than boys.  I use to keep a house full of boys when Jacob was little, but last year I got called only for girls... So that is why we've had so many girls.
Also, my main reason for hoping that Brookelyn was a girl was because that's what her parents really hoped for. My last child was a boy,so the baby in our family for the last 9 years has been a boy. I also wanted her to be a girl for my son-in-laws parents, because they have all boys. I knew what a joy a little girl would bring to them.
But had she been a boy that would have been just fine with me:) They both are a precious blessing to any family.

She's sweet ,but messy:)

Update On Our Newest Foster...

As I mentioned before we have a new foster baby. A precious SHY baby girl. She has been through a whole lot since her birth. She's had several fractured bones all caused by child abuse. Most are old wounds that were never treated by a doctor:(
Yesterday, she saw her ortho doctor and she was very pleased at how well she is doing. She has one broken bone in her left leg and two broken bones in her right. The left leg may be well enough in 2 weeks to remove the cast ,but the right leg (femur injury) is going to take a while longer to heal.
Baby girl "R" is so tired of the casts. She wants to do things like crawl and pull-up and she tries so hard to even with casts on and she gets so frustrated with it.
She's an amazing little girl. When she looks up at you with her big blue eyes it can melt your heart. She has already touched so many lives just since she's been with us.
Her and Baby Z (our other foster) are 3 weeks apart in age. They are close to the same size. Baby R's a little taller ,but Baby Z is more chubby. They really seem to like each other and we are happy about that since it looks like they both may be with us for a while.
Please add baby R to your prayer list. Pray for complete healing of her body. She also has a lot of trust issues that we are also dealing with(as you can imagine). So we need lots of prayers.
 Thank you!

God's Been Good (In My Life)...

Katie and Ashley have been practicing this song for the last few days to sing at our church. I LOVE this song. This lady sings it just a little different from the one we got this song from ,but she did a great job.
I can relate to this song and though I've had my share of life's ups and downs,  I can still say, GOD'S BEEN GOOD IN MY LIFE!

GOD'S BEEN GOOD
Lately I've been looking back along this winding road
To the old familiar markers of the mercies God has shown
I know it may sound simple, but it's more than a cliche
There's no better way for me to tell you than to say:

God's been good in my life
I've been blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.

Times replay, and I can see that I've cried some bitter tears
But I've felt His arms around me as I've faced my greatest fears
You see, I've had more gains than losses, and I've known more joy than hurt
As His grace rolled down upon me undeserved.

God's been good in my life
I've been blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.

For God has been my Father, my Savior,my Friend
His love was my beginning and His love will be my end.
I could spend forever trying to tell you everything He is,
But the best way I can say it is this:

God's been good in my life
I've been blessed beyond my wildest dreams
When I go to sleep each night
And though I've had my share of hard times,
I wouldn't change them if I could
'Cause through it all, God's been good.

What a day...

I found this picture on one of our church member's site. I've never saw it before. This is from 6-27-09 and it was taken in the North GA mountains at a youth retreat. If you noticed it says," 1 was saved"! That one was mine!!!!! My oldest son Jon gave his life to the Lord on 06-27-09!!!!! This rock is still there:) What a wonderful day that was.
