Something about the weekend...

Nicole(friend), Ashley, and Katie
What is it about the weekend? Time just seems to pass so much faster than normal. I enjoy the weekends. It's the only time I actually feel like I can just relax and enjoy the day.... fully. I enjoy every day of my life, but week days are always so filled with schooling, working, appointments,etc. The weekends tend to be our "what ever we feel like doing" kind of days and it's always so much more relaxing and stress free.

As for this past weekend, It was mostly about Jacob and Bailey and of course Baby Z. Baby Z doesn't mind tagging along no matter where we are going or what we are doing...I'm thankful for that. On Saturday I took lots of pics of my girls & their friend Nicole. I always love passing the day taking pictures. I pulled out the craft box and let Jacob & Bailey paint until their little hearts were content. It kept them busy while I edited all the 100+ pictures that I have backed up. It was just a good *FUN* calm day for me.

On Sunday evening we took Bay & Jacob to 278 to see a movie. Jacob has been wanting to see the Yogi Bear movie ever since we saw it advertised. We usually visit our local (mini sized) Jelly Stone park during the summer months, so Jacob knew all about Yogi Bear. He got really excited when I told him that we were going to go see it. It's a cute little movie for kids.
Oh! I almost forgot. I have a new look these days. I got about 6 inches cut off of my hair. It was time. I needed a change. Maybe I'll add a pic of myself later. My hubby doesn't really like short hair...that's just his thing. However, he said he really liked my hair...that made me feel good.

Goodbye weekend:(
I know you must go. You were sweet while you lasted.
Hello Monday!
It's looking cloudy and they're calling for rain, but inside the SON is going to be shining in my life. Shine on Lord...shine on:)
Have a beautiful day my friend!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.~John 3:16

I'm Going To Love You Like Mine...

Dear Little Z,
Precious baby oh how I love you. From the moment you entered my life I fell in love with you. I can't even put in words how blessed I feel to have you here with us. I love your cuddly mushy baby self. I love how you feel all wrapped up in my arms. I love how your little toes curl up when I touch your little feet and how you look up with those bright eyes and then break into a great big smile. I love seeing you turn your head when I say,"Hey Buddy". Buddy is the little name I've given you. All babies get a special name around here. You are my little buddy and you are so very special to me.
When you reached up to touch my face yesterday, I just want you to know that it melted my heart. How did we get so blessed to have you?

Tomorrow the call may come and I may have to give you back or to someone else. But for today, we are not going to think about that. For today, you are my baby and I am going to love you like mine. This is your home and today we are your family.
I am going to hold you as much as I can. I'm going to kiss your tiny cheeks and tell you that I love you all through the day. I am going to rock you and sing you, "Hush Little Baby". When I make your bottle, I will make sure it's not to hot or to cold (I know how you like it best). I'm going to play little piggies with your 10 tiny perfect toes. When you cry, I will come quickly...I promise. I will run you a warm bath and let you splash and kick as long as you would like. I'm going to rub you down with baby lotion and then hold you close so that I can smell your sweet baby smell. I'm going to bounce you up and down because that always brings on giggles. I'm going to tickle your tummy and enjoy your precious coos. I'm going to let you fall asleep on my chest and enjoy every second of it. When bedtime comes I'm going to tuck you very gently in your little bed , give you goodnight kisses ,and tell you once more that I love you. Why? Because I can.
Today you are a part of a family that cares about you and thinks that you are an extra special little boy . For today, you are my baby and I'm going to love you like mine.
For I don't know the plans God has for you, but I know that whatever they are that they are all part of His perfect plan for your life. I've prayed for you and I've prayed for your future and I trust that God has heard my prayers.
So if the day comes that we have to say goodbye, please forgive me ,because I know I'm going to cry. I always cry. I just can't help it. But I will always cherish this time I've had with you and I will never ever ,ever ,ever ,ever forget you sweet baby boy.
We are so blessed and so honored to be your foster parents and your family.
(For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. ~Jeremiah 29:11)

Take time for the little things...

One day at a time--that is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may
look back and realize they were the big things.”

Meet My Family-2011

"Meet My Family".
Hi! I'm Sandy. I'm the keeper of "One Day At A Time" blog.
 I would like to take this time to introduce my family to you.
~~~~~~~~~
This is a picture of my hubby and I.
Brent and I married in May of 1989 at the age of 16 & 18. We married young ,but God has provided for us every step of the way. We are simple people ,who for the most part ,live a pretty simple life. We have made our home in GA and I just can't imagine living any where else.
This is our home.
 Our home is usually loud ,but always filled with laughter and love.
Hubby's heart for children was the one thing that attracted me to him. I wanted a BIG family and he did too. God blessed us with just that. He gave us a wonderful  BIG family. I am blessed.
Psalm 127:3-5 (KJV)
Lo,children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Below is a picture of our oldest child "Samantha" with her husband Lee. Samantha came to us in 2005 through the foster care system. She has been a very important part of our lives.
They are expecting their first baby and our first grandson, Christian "Carter" in July 2011.
**Update**
Little Carter Is Here!!!
Next, you will meet our daughter "Anna" with her husband Corey. They wed in June of 2008.
 Just below their picture you will meet PawPaw & MeMe's pride and joy. Did I forget to mention that we are also YOUNG grandparents? We became grandparents in our 30's...I guess that is what happens when you start young. We were blessed with our first GRANDbaby *Brookelyn Shae* in Jan 2010, Who ever came up with the name grandchild got it just right. It is exactly that *GRAND*.
Brookelyn Shae
The next picture I'd like to introduce to you my
daughters Katie age 19 and Ashley age 17.
They are only 18 months apart & the very
best of friends.
Yes, we finally had a boy!  In the picture below, you will meet our firstborn son Jonathan. Jon is 17 years old. You may have noticed that Ashley & Jon are both 17,that's because we received a double blessing in 93! We had twins!!! After the twins, we thought our family was complete.
However 8 years later,God had other plans.
He blessed our lives with another son.
Our youngest son Jacob Noah. He is age 9.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hang on, we are almost done...
(Bailey & I)

You probably thought we were done. We did too. Well, not just yet. Through fostering we have had 20 other children to come and go from our lives. Each child left their marks behind. Some left roots that run so deep that they are 4-ever connected to our hearts. You will hear their names pretty often( if you spend any time on my blog) ,because we still spend a lot of time with them...
Bailey-age 3
Trinton-age 8
Amberly-age 4
Devon-age 2
Shelbi also known as "Jelly Bean"-age 1
and our newest little ones
 Baby "A"-age 1
and
  baby "Z" -age 9 months
(Our newsest) baby "R"-age 10 months
These are just a few of our foster BLESSINGS.
They refer to us as Uncle Brent & Aunt Sandy.

Fostering ...
is touching the future...one child at a time.
Matthew 18:5
And whoso shall receive one such
 little child in my name receiveth me.

With each child that we foster, we do our best to continue having a relationship with them and their families. Some want that and others just want to move on and forget their past...I can't say I blame them. However, these kids were a part of our family and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
A Quote
I Really Like and often think of
when I'm dealing with families in foster care...
There is always something left to love. And if you ain't learned that, you ain't learned nothing...when do you think is the time to love somebody the most; when they done good and made things easy for everybody? Well then, you ain't through learning -- because that ain't the time at all. It's when he's at his lowest and can't believe in himself 'cause the world done whipped him so. When you start measuring somebody, measure him right, child, measure him right. Make sure you done taken into account what hills and valleys he come through before he got to wherever he is." – ~Raisin in the Sun

Wordless Wednesday- Brotherly Love

Do You Have A Favorite Blog????

 Some people are just blogging talented. They write a post and 500+ people leave comments. They are well known all over the world, simply because they blog. You may know some of them yourself... Like MCKMama's Blog or Ree Drummond at The Pioneer Woman. I'll admit it,I can spend hours on their blogs and never get bored.

Then you have the less known bloggers that draw you to their blog because you share a similar hobby, faith, journey, etc. They inspire you and make you want to keep coming back. They may not be as well known and may only have a handful of readers, but they top your favorite's list.

Yesterday, I was reading some one's blog and they posted their favorite's list.  I decided I would visit a few of the blogs that they had listed just to see what made them stand out above the others. Needless to say, I only made it to the second one on her list ,before I was sucked in. Before I knew it, me and Ashley were both glued to the screen. Her posts were beautiful and her pictures amazing. So as you can imagine. I quickly got her added to my favorites bar.

Do you have a favorite blog or blogs that stand out above the others to you? Why not share them so others can enjoy them too.

Finally a break from the cold...

Yesterday, our temps got up into the high 50's. It felt like Spring here ,when compared to the cold weather we've been having. I actually let the Sweet Peas go out to play for a little while.

Emma Kate & Brookelyn Shae
Brookelyn was so happy to finally get outside. She is an outside kid for sure. She was like a little bird out of the cage. She took off as soon as I let her down:)
Sweet Lil Emma Kate always tries to take care of Brookelyn. She was worried about her running off, so she kept grabbing her hand and dragging her back...tooo sweet. However, Brookelyn wasn't to happy about being drug around.
Little Emma Kate is going to be a BIG sister in June and she is going to be VERY well trained ,thanks to Brookelyn...lol:)
 The Last Of Our Snow.
This is what is left of the igloo.
I told you we still have snow
 here in GA:)
A NOT so happy little Brookelyn Shae.
She didn't want to come in from outside.
Hurry Spring...please!!!!!!
A little pudding can make any tears go away:)
Especially when MeMe let's her play in it too.
Bye Bye Tears:)
Have a blessed Day!
