4 months....

Our little punkin britches is 4 months old now
and getting a spunky little personality.

She is probably the most smiling
baby EVER.

She thinks everything is sooooo funny
especially her uncles Jon and Jacob.
They walk in and she
starts laughing.
Is there anything more
adorable than a laughing baby?
I think not.

When the Lord is in it...

I've just got to share this. As most of you know I am a foster mom to two special needs babies. One is a 2 year old lil girl that can't walk but has recently learned to roll all over the house. She requires medical equipment. One thing she requires at all times is a pulse/ox machine that tells us how she is breathing or not breathing. It hooks to her toe. Since she has become so active she keeps breaking the sensor wires. They cost about $57 and medicaid only covers 4 a month. She has been needing at least 6 or more a month and the extras are on us. Our supply company was kind enough to send us a couple extra this month, but they can't keep doing that. One night she broke the last one we had(and her homecare nurse failed to tell me she used the last one) so I set by her bed all night just to be sure she kept breathing. Well, our supply company got in touch with the maker of the machine and told them about us. This morning I got a call. It was the head person over the company and the whole east coast. He asked could he stop by. I told him that it would be fine and that we would be home. He pulled up in my yard in a lexus and he gets out wearing his suit and tie. I go to the door barefooted, hair pulled in a pony tail, a t-shirt and capris. Needless to say I felt a little embarrassed when I shook his hand. This man was from New York City but he was down here in GA just passing through he said. I invited him in to my little modest home. Our homecare nurse met us at the door and took over. She told him all about us being foster parents & she introduced our lil girl to him. I could tell our girl touched his heart right away.  He asked to look at all of her equipment. Our nurse carried him back to Baby girl's room and they stayed gone for a long while. I figured our nurse was telling him about how we've begged and pleaded with the supply company. They came back into the kitchen and he informed us that he would like to bless us with 40 sensors (I was just hoping for two), a new pulse/ox machine that can be hooked to her ear and be used in the place of the other if needed, and he is going to give us a co2 monitor. That would cost us well over $3000 but he's not charging us a thing. Now this is where it gets good...
After he left my nurse told me why they were back there so long. While they were back in the room our nurse led that man to the Lord. Now I don't know about you but I know God was in this. That man came in my door lost and left a saved man. God fulfilled our needs today and He fulfilled this man's need for a Saviour. God sure is good! Please keep this man in your prayers.

Just about us...

One sick baby + 8 appointments + a new baby + a sick mom = One tough week. I could have left off the new baby part, because he is PERFECT. But, anytime you add a new foster it's an adjustment (making space, setting up a new bed, baby shopping for needs, making first appointments, setting up visitation, etc).

Our little BB has been one sick little boy this week. He has had a really bad something. They never really said what he had. He was running fever, wheezing, congested, and pitiful. 3 trips to the doctor and 6 prescriptions later = our little guy is back to himself.  Yay!!!!!!

I ended up catching his bug and I'm still not 100% but I am much better than I was. Moms don't have time to be sick... especially this mom.

As you read above we have a new foster baby. We had no plans to foster anymore children (at least not for looooooooong time... if ever). We weren't even on the call list anymore because my hands are busy with the two I have. But, our county is running over with kids. Many of our foster homes are over their numbers so they called and we said yes, BUT, only TEMPORARILY. Our new little bean will be with us for just a few more days because he is going to be placed with his grandmother very soon.  He had his first well check this week and he is now 7 lbs & 11 ozs and he is 20 1/4 inches long. He is a doll.

We took Baby girl for a well check on Monday. She really wasn't due one, but her case worker insisted. So we did. Her doctor was very pleased with how well she is doing. She is now 26 lbs and 10 ozs. So she is finally growing a little. Surprisingly she hasn't caught this bug from BB and me. I've worked hard to keep her well and so has her wonderful nurses. I couldn't do all I do without them.

All the rest of the family is doing wonderful! Here is a tid bit about each...

My Hubby- He has been so sweet and understanding this week. He's worked hard to take care of me. He actually went to Red Lobster (my favorite) and brought me crab legs. He knows how to make me feel better:)

Anna- Had her first checkup and they confirmed her pregnancy and gave her the due date of Jan 6th.
Corey & Brookelyn Shae are so excited.

Samantha- Just put a contract on her new home. If all goes well she will no longer be a renter. She also started a new job. She is now a nanny to our pediatrician. She is really excited about it. Plus little Carter gets to be with his mommy everyday.

Katie- Is still floating in the clouds over her sweet baby girl. She LOVES being a mommy and being home with her baby. I can so relate to her.

Ashley- Started a new job at an assisted living home. She LOVES it. I think she is happier than she has ever been right now. I am so proud for her and of her.

Jon- What can I say about my boy? He is perfect. Seriously. If he's not at work he is at church or with his girlfriend Grace. He has turned out to be an amazing young man. He also has the sweetest girlfriend ever. I think she's an angel... really.

Jacob- Now this little turkey is about to make me pull my hair out. He has turned my hair grey. I love him to pieces but he is at that Pre-teen know it all stage. If you've had one then you understand. He is 11 going on 21. He is growing his hair out (which drives me nuts) and he has his own style of dressing (which drives his daddy nuts) and he is always up to something. I doubt I'll have any hair left by the time I get this one raised...lol No, he's my lil man and will always be my baby (just don't tell him I told you so ;). ..lol

Over all life is good right now.
