Effects of Epilepsy on the body...

I knew very little about epilepsy before Blaze.

I had only ever seen one person have a seizure.

Then the day came and Blaze had his first one.

I'm not sure anything has ever scared me so bad.

I wasn't even sure that is what it was.

He was a tiny baby.

I just looked down and he was shaking and 

his limbs started drawing in 

and he turned blue.

I honestly thought he was dying

before my eyes.

I ran (because we were outside)

as fast as I could into the house.

By the time I handed him over

to his dad he was pinking back up.

I grabbed the phone to call 911.

By the time I got the dispatcher on the phone

he went into a second seizure

in his daddy arms.

He was coming out of 

the second seizure

just as the EMT

came through the door.

It was by far one of the most scared

moments of my life.

Blaze has ben diagnosed

with 

Symptomatic Partial Seizure Epilepsy

Blaze has been hospitalized

3 times for seizures.

He is on kepra and we now carry 

a diastat pen just incase.
