~As for me and my house we will serve the Lord ~ Joshua 24:15

Just an update...

I got to looking back over my last few posts and pretty much they've all been the "30 Days Of Thankful" posts. I love doing those posts. But, I figured I'd take a moment and post about us.

So what's new?

My hubby is up North with his company to help with the clean up in New York..He has been there over a week and is still there and most likely will be there another week or so. I really miss him. It's not the same without him here.  He is a lot of help with the kiddos and sometimes it gets tough when I have to handle everything alone. I'm thankful for my nursing, but they are only here part of the day. The rest of the time I go it alone (when hubby's gone).

I had three trips with the babies this week.. Baby girl went back on Monday to CHOA to be fitted for new splints because her's weren't doing the job anymore. She also got fitted for new leg braces because her feet have grew. On Wednesday, I took Bry back to the children's clinic in Atlanta. She goes there every few months & meets with a team of doctors. It's an all in one place. For the most part they were pleased with how well she is doing. She is now up 5.5 lbs. She weighs 25.5 now. She has really grew and on their scale of where they want her to be she is 96% there in her weight. So we are getting there. However, she met with her pulmonologist and she informed us that Brylee's asthma is much worse than  originally thought. She believes that is why Brylee keeps having these episodes where we can't keep her ox/pulse where it should be. She started her on 3 more meds and increased another med. Hopefully this will be the turn around for her but the new steroid has made her MEAN and we've had a couple of really tough days with her.

We also took BB back to Children's to get his hearing aids redone. They just weren't staying in his ears so they weren't benefiting him at all. They want me to buy him some cotton pilot hats that can be tied under the chin. He hates hats so I guess we will see how that goes. BB is doing fantastic. He is realizing we are doing something with our hands (sign language) and he is trying to copy us. It is so precious. I do believe he understands "mommy" and "come to me" because he reacts the same way every time I sign these. Katie found us an awesome sign language dvd by baby Einstein and we have mastered all the signs on it. Even the kids have learned them. I found several more DVDS and I hope to be able to buy some of those for BB for Christmas. I think they would make a huge difference and help us all learn.

We have a lady that comes from GA PINES once a week to work with us on sign language . BB seems to enjoy her and she is amazing to watch. I'm just learning the basics of signing now (One word at a time like mom,dad ,baby, sister, brother, come ,go,help, happy, sad, etc) It's soooo much to learn, but BB is worth it and we will get it.

I took BB to visit his bio grandparents and they were so happy to see him. I didn't have to, but I told the workers at the welcome home center that I would come up there and let them say goodbye. They were very respectful toward me and referred to me as his mom. I appreciated that. I put 7 months worth of pictures that I had taken of him on a disk for his mom & grandparents. It's the least I can do for them. After all, look at what a gift they have given us. I plan to still keep some contact with them and I promised to send them updates & pictures from time to time as long as they respect us & our family. I don't think that will be a problem. They are very appreciative.

My son Jon got a new job right here next to us at a machine shop and he is doing amazing. The guy goes to church with us and he is training Jon. Hands on works best with Jon since he struggles with memory. The boss understands that and has been so good with Jon and Jon has caught on so fast. He is loving it and I am sooooo proud of him. If he is not working, he is at church, or in the woods hunting. I know God is working in his life because it shows in everything Jon does. He is such a good young man and I am soooooooooo blessed to be his mom.

Katie is getting huge. She is sooooo much bigger than Anna was. We are just praying she won't go early because her hubby is in New York working too. Baby Kaylan has got to stay put for at least another month or more. Katie's been having contractions off & on for over a month now so it won't surprise me if she does go a little early. I just hope Dylan will be here when she does.

Well, my nurse left, so I've got to get up & take over Bry's care. I'll finish this post later, if time allows. Have a great weekend everyone!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6
