I've been slacking at updating my blog. It's because my life has been anything, but slacking. I've been one very busy lady for over a month now. Fall, like always, has been a busy time for me. We have been a family on the move. We've had tons going on and I have so much to share, that I almost don't even know where to start. I guess for this post, I'm going to just be simple and give a quick update, but the next few post will be loaded with all the details about our family, our fall, our many adventures, and lots of pictures. So beware, the next few post will be picture loaded, but I promise I won't upload all 400...lol That would take forever:)
As for our family, we are all over the sickness stuff ! Bye Bye head colds, ear infections, and strep throat. It's been one thing after another with my little ones, but praise God all the kids are off of meds and are well..... yay!!!!!!!!! I picked up some kind of bug myself, but thankfully I am feeling much better too. It's no fun being a mom & sick.
The BIG news of the week is my sweet little foster JJ is POTTY TRAINED!!!!! He is fully trained now!!!!!! No accidents at all in over a week and he is the VERY proud owner of BIG boy underwear!!!! Way to go JJ!!!!! Uncle Brent & Aunt Sandy are soooooo proud of you. When JJ came here he had only been in foster care for less than two weeks and had been through 3 homes. He had just turned 4 ,but his estimated age was about 2. For the first few days,I wasn't sure if I could possibly keep him. I had never had a kid removed from my home, but I admit it crossed my mind. My hands were full. He was an angry child. He didn't trust us. He didn't want to be here. He didn't even like me. He hurt my 3 month old grandbaby, he bite my past foster daughter, he scratched the face of a child I was doing respite for, he kicked my Z in the tummy and knocked the breath out of him. It was a tough few days. I called his case worker, my worker , and the casa almost everyday. My case worker said, "Sandy, if anyone can do it, you can". Those words stuck with me. I didn't believe in myself, but I guess she did. Well, I poured my heart and time into this little boy. I wanted him to feel loved & cared about. We clicked!!!!!!!! He is my boy now and I just love him to pieces. I always tell him he's Aunt Sandy's boy. While ago, he said, "Aunt Sandy, you my boy"...lol :) Now, he is the best kid you could ever ask for. When he tells us randomly that he loves us, it melts my heart ,because I know he really means it. This is why I foster.
My new little baby foster "pinky" (K). Is doing good. He is two weeks old now. He weighs a little over 7 pounds and growing before my eyes. He lost his cord and got his very first bath yesterday. However, he wasn't very thrilled about it and screamed the whole time. He is a cuddle bug and loves to sleep on my chest or my hubby's chest. He is not a good sleeper, but Hubs & I have been taking turns setting up at night with him. However, he did sleep from 10 PM to 4:30 AM this morning, so hopefully we are getting on a better schedule. It's just been really hard with me being sick. My best friend Amanda & my Katie Bug helped out and set up with him a couple of nights, so that I could get the rest I needed. Thankfully, I am back to being me and my pinky sure is glad to have me back:)
Our foster Z is just Z. He is a stinker bug. He is also a climber. He tries to climb out of his highchair and bed. He likes to stand up in his highchair and he gets so tickled when I tell him to set down. It's like a game. He also loves to make me chase him, especially when he needs a clean diaper. He runs & giggles about it. He doesn't seem to be jealous at all of the new baby. Actually ,he doesn't pay him any attention at all. He adores his new big foster brother JJ and loves to play chase with him. Him & JJ have really bonded and it's just precious. Yesterday, we went to pick up JJ from visitation and Z ran in and right to JJ and just wrapped his arms around him. They just hugged and hugged. It was just the sweetest thing ever. All three fosters are just so full of energy, giggles, and love and I just adore them.
I've been backed up with senior pics and have been working on them every chance I can. That has kept me sooooo busy ,but thank goodness I finished up last night with orders and I don't plan to do anymore pics for others atleast for a few days. I want to take new pics of my babies for fall and I'll add them when I get them done.
We have been working on our house and things are looking good. We've swapped rooms around and are re-decorating all of them. I decided to give all of my white walls a little color. I will be adding pics soon:)
Hmmm....well, that's all I have time for right now. My little Bailey is about to be here and Brookelyn just used the potty and is yelling "meme, wipe me". I'll be updating and adding more pics over the weekend:) So stop back soon!
Have a blessed weekend everyone.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6
We Are On The Fence!
So glad for an update! I check here everyday and know you have your hands full!! Great news about JJ. I don't know you personally, but I agree, if anyone can do it--it's you!! Have a great weekend!! Is Jacob playing football this year? Haven't seen any pics and just wondered.
ReplyDeleteYou are AMAZING Sandy!!! I totally agree, if anyone could do it, it would of been you! I'm so thankful that God brought him to your house, and that you perseveered! (sp?) Those poor children only act like that because of the emotional and sometimes physical trauma they've been through. Praise God you two are clicking now!! I know it will make a HUGE difference in his life! Can't wait for pics of all that's going on! <3
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking of you !! Thanx for the update !!
