~As for me and my house we will serve the Lord ~ Joshua 24:15

Excuse this house...

These last few days have been very busy for me. I've been trying to get my house ready for Christmas as well as ready for our foster re-certification( that is due this month). I really don't know why I stress so much about it. I know that the state doesn't expect perfection out of me. After all, I have a house full of people and traffic in and out 24/7. So a perfect house is out of the question.
I've  looked through magazines and I've visited other blogs and I am just in awe at some of the homes. I admire the beautifully decorated homes with everything in just the right place. I'll admit It, I even felt a little jealous. Then I remembered why my house doesn't look like that. Precious children play here and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I thought maybe when my kids are grown that I'd have that picture perfect house, but then that would mean I wouldn't have grandchildren... So scratch that thought:)
And just being honest, those houses are beautiful ,but they really don't look very comfy and cozy or like a place where their family gathers. I want my house to be more than just a house.
I want it to feel like home.
A place you can kick off your shoes
and put your feet up to rest.
Excuse This House
Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there,
Ours boasts it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere.

For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges are on the doors
I should apologize, I guess
For toys strew on the floor.

But I sat down with my children
And we played and laughed and read
And if the doorbell doesn’t shine,
Their eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I’m forced to choose
The one job or the other,
I’d like to cook and clean and scrub,
But first I’ll be a mother.

Hubby has it all stacked and ready
 for the cold days ahead.
