Well, today was the big day. We started back to HOMEschool:) My little man started grade #3 and the twins are starting their senior year. My babies are growing up way to fast. It just just hit me...this is my 12th year of homeschooling. Has it been easy??? No Has it been worth it??? Oh yeah!!!! I couldn't imagine it any other way.
I've learned alot along the way. I've learned that each child is unique and each learns differently. I've learned that no one curiculum fits all... I've tried so many through the years. I've also learned that homeschooling families are not all alike. I've met many families and I've been amazed at how different we all are. I would say that at first I was an uptight mom, but now I'm much more relaxed. I use to try to make my homeschool like public school, but I learned quickly that ,that doesn't work well. Now, I view homeschooling as a living & learning as you go kind of thing. It has become a part of who we are as a family...a lifestyle.
Last year, went so well for Jacob that we've decided to continue with the curriculum. We are going with Alpha Omega lifepacs. He liked the workbook/smaller sized books. He has to complete 50 books each grade, because each subject is broke up in 10 workbooks, but he really likes that better than 5 huge hard back books. So if it works for him, then it works for me:)
Our first day went pretty good. It's always a little hard to get back in the groove.
(((hugs))) and blessings,
Sandy
