Today's Devotion

Verse-1 Peter 2:18-20

Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Thoughts-
One of the most effective ways we can demonstrate that we have new life through Jesus Christ is to endure wrongs and injustice with patience. Being patient when you are hit with those undeserving blows. Enduring the injustice without losing your temper or attempting to retaliate. These are the times when the grace of God is very evident in our lives. "Where the rubber meets the road" Jesus suffered injustice and asked His heavenly Father to forgive them. He did not retaliate or get even with them. Neither did He hold a grudge and carry hatred and bitterness around with Him. He is our example and He is the one who enables us to do the same. In and of ourselves it is impossible; our human nature has a "get even, not fair," mindset. We can overcome our natural reactions; through Jesus Christ who enables us to express God's reactions. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. It is through Him and His ability and strength and wisdom that we are able to endure all things patiently.
