Only my son...

I told Jacob that I would pay him $1 if he would run to the mailbox for me. Of course, he jumped on the idea of making a dollar. So he rode his bike up to the mailbox ,but inside  the mailbox was a package of books. The package was so big that he couldn't get it out of the mailbox. So he decided he would just bring me the mailbox instead... he didn't want to miss out on making that dollar...lol

Brookelyn's Kind Of Day...

Brookelyn's favorite kind of day
would be a day outside
 filled with sunshine and smiles.

Does Cracker Jacks take you back?
It sure does me.
I loved these things when
I was kid.
When I saw these,
I thought,
"Brookelyn's got to have some".

I hope you are having a good weekend:)

Another Friday...

It's finally Friday.
This has been a week of firsts for our sweet baby foster Z.
Baby Z has learned to pull up on furniture to stand. This is awesome considering that he refused to put weight on his legs for so long. Now if only he would learn to hang on instead of letting go. He keeps falling backwards and bumping his head. He also moved up to a bigger car seat, larger diapers,he cut his first tooth, ate his first meat(ham), and he learned to crawl on his knees this week...way to go Z!!!!!!

Brookelyn trying to  buckle him in his big seat.
Are these beautiful or what? My little man "Jacob" bought these for me with his very own money. It was so sweet. He has been helping his great aunt at her nursery. I came home and he had these hung on the porch for me. I am blessed to have thoughtful kids.

Another busy weeks behind me,
but It came with it's share of blessings.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Yes, I'm still here...

I am still here. I just haven't had much to say or post about in the last few days. I don't really like to be so dumpy on my blog ,but at times it's hard not to be. This past week kept me pretty busy and when I wasn't busy I've tried to sleep. Sometimes, I just can't sleep, but other times I just want to keep sleeping. It's just going to take time I guess. I really just don't feel like me these days. I look forward to the day when life feels somewhat normal again.

It was a bitter sweet Mother's day. It hit me as I was out shopping that this was my first Mother's day with out my Nanny. As I was picking out cards, I saw the ones to grandmothers and it made me sad ,because mine are all gone. All of my grandparents are gone now and that's just sad to me. I can only imagine how sad my Mother must have been because she lost her Mom in March 2011 and her son in April 2011. So I know her heart was aching this Mother's Day.

We went to church yesterday and I was honored to received a flower for the most children present at church. That blessed my heart. What more could a mother ask for? All of my children except the youngest has excepted Christ as their Saviour. I pray that when the time comes that Jacob will too. It was just a blessing having them together.

After church, we took Bailey home ,because she spent the weekend with us. Then we rode over to Brent's mom's. We visited with her for a couple of hours. She always enjoys when we come. My mom-in-law has been a wonderful mother and a very good grandmother to my children. After that, we went to my mom's and spent the rest of the day. It was a busy day for all of us.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.

One of those days...

Have you ever set down to write a post and just couldn't get the words out? You start writting ,but then you delete it ,because it just doesn't come out the way you want it to. Then you think maybe I just won't post today. That's me right now. I have so much on my heart, but I don't even know where to start. I have so much going through my mind right now. Yes, today has not been my day.

Some people think I am a strong lady. Some people think I've got it all together... Some days I think I do too. But,not today.

Today I am reminded just how weak I am. Today I feel so small. Today I am not strong. Today I am overwhelmed. Today I feel alone. Today I feel like no one understands. Today has not been my day at all.

I know it's going to take time and I know that things are going to get better. Today is just one of those days that I need prayers.

My Brother...

In Memory Of My Brother
Bryan
03-12-1980 - 04-27-2011
I really don't even know where to start with this post...so it may be scattered.
On April 27th, storms ripped across the state of GA and during those storms we got the call that my younger brother Bryan went home to be with the Lord. It was just his time to go...that's the only way it can be explained.  It's something we will never understand and it's something we will probably never get over.

Today's Monday. When I woke up this morning, I thought to myself, this is the first day of our new way of living. Today, we are suppose to move forward and get back to school, work, and every day life just like everyone around us ,but that's easier said than done. Our world has been rocked and this new way of living hurts....really bad.
However, this hurt is not new to us. We've been down this road before when we lost my brother Robby in 2005. It was devastating, just like this. Robby left a hole in our hearts that we still haven't gotten over and I guess we never will.

I just never imagined something like this would happen and that my parents would have to give up another child. No,not again and not the "baby" of our family. Bryan was still young. He had his whole life before him (we thought). He was laid back and humble... both of my brothers were very laid back, more so than I am.

Bryan, he lived a simple life and it didn't take much to make him happy. You never saw Bryan without a smile on his face. He never said much ,but he always wore that smile that everybody knew him for. He never walked in the room without giving me a hug and saying "Hey Sis" and " love you"...he was just sweet like that. I was blessed to be his sister.

I was for sure Bryan would outlive us all ,because he was in perfect health. He was active & full of life. His life consisted of  fishing, sports, biking, scrapping, and spending time with our family & friends. His dad was his best friend and his life revolved around both of our parents. He still lived at home with them and spent almost every free second with them. So as you can imagine my parents are lost without him.
Watching my parents go through this has been the hardest of it all for me. It's really hard to be around them right now because I just can't stand seeing them hurting and knowing I can't say or do one thing to make it any better. But, It's also hard for me to leave them because I know they need me now more than ever before.
I've been asked several times, "What can I do?", over these last few days and my answer has been the same. There really is nothing anyone can do except keep our family in your prayers. Just knowing that people are thinking of us and praying for us means more than anything.

This song makes me think of the relationship between my mom and Bryan. Mom waited a long time after me to have another baby and when Bryan came along he was just as the song describes "The Baby" of our family.
