~As for me and my house we will serve the Lord ~ Joshua 24:15

Devastation...

No doubt one of the worse days that we've had.
Seeing so much of our stuff going up in smoke.
Everything gone. Can't be replaced. It's heartbreaking.
Yes, its just stuff but it was things that mattered
to me and our family.
My husband's business and all of his tools
and projects that he had worked on so hard for are gone.

All of my holiday decorations, keep sakes,
things of my mom's, kid's toys,
our yard tools, lawn mower,
kid's Christmas gifts for
this year, food in our freezer, etc...all
gone in a matter of minutes.
But, this wooden cross survived the fire.
The fire left its marks on it.
The walls fell in but it didn't break it,
knock it over, or even consume it.
I think it's as a sign ...a reminder from God
that everything is going to be ok.
Maybe not today but eventually.
Somethings I will never understand.
This is yet one more heart ache and loss for our family.
I'm just heart broken over it.

The fire as you can see got very
close to our home so
we are for sure fortunate
to still have our home.
However, it did do some minor damage.
It busted out the basement windows,
melted the girl's bedroom window, melted
blinds in the windows, and melted
the paint on the outside of the
 house (on that end).

The cause was not determined.
We suspect it could be bad wiring,
or maybe a fridge or floor freezer is to blame
since it appears to have started on that side.

I'm just thankful because
 it could have been
so much worse.
