Brookelyn Shae started softball! She has won all of her games so far!!!! Way to go Bookie Shae!!! Paw Paw & Me Me are so proud of you!!!!
Katie started her own business! "Precious Seams" and she is doing great! She is making children's clothes, accessories, and she is monogramming too! She has been sewing for a while for family but now she is sewing for others. I am sooooo very proud of her! She is so talented. She did not get that talent from me....lol Here are a couple of outfits she did for her nephews.
April 6-10th, Blaze enjoyed Spring break week. I felt bad because we had so many appointments that week. We didn't get to do that much fun stuff, but over the weekend we made up for it. We attended the Dogwood Festival, parade (Brookelyn was in the parade), and the park.
April 8th, Blaze went back to the autism center for evaluations in feeding. He got accepted into the feeding program. We are crossing our fingers that they will be able to help him. He spent several hours there being evaluated and they saw the struggle he has with eating. Our first week was a weaning off of formula week and pureed only foods. They want to see if he can maintain his body weight without his formula. Thicker foods will be introduced later. He will be going back every other week.
April 6th, Blaze went to Children's to see the neurologist. We had to see a different one this time because ours was out. He agreed that Blaze was most likely having break through seizures, so they've adjusted his meds again. He has done just fine since then.
On April 10th, We got the word that we officially got moved to adoptions on our foster daughter!!!! We are so excited!!!!! We should meet our new adoption worker very soon.
Corey and Anna got their official letter on Justin also. We are so excited for them too!!!!
On April 10th, Blaze got his back support brace/ pressure vest. He is not to thrilled about it at all (It's hot), but hopefully he will adjust to it with time. It should help with his posture and walking and the pressure one is good for his sensory issues...so we win all the way around! We didn't realize when his PT ordered it that she ordered both, but we sure are thankful!
On April 10th, our Tiny girl finally got to loose her cranial helmet...just in time for warmer weather!!! Woo Hoo! She is one happy baby about that!
April 12th, we took a trip to Alabama to visit Brent's side of the family. We had a great time!
On April 15th, we went back to the autism center for a developmental well check/ follow up.
April 22nd, Blaze went on his very first field trip at preschool. It was community day, so they went around the community. He had a blast!
He is finally getting better with school and I am too. It's been a huge adjustment for us both. I miss him terribly when he is gone, but I sure enjoy him when he gets back home.
April 24th, Blaze went to Emory to meet with a genetics doctor at request from the doctors at the Marcus Center. They checked Blaze from head to toe and then pretty much told me that they are not going to do any further testing on him at this time. Blaze most likely does have some type of undiagnosed syndrome (which we've known from the start) and that is most likely why he has so many different diagnoses, but he is doing really well. He gets the max of services and supports now and even with a new diagnoses it wouldn't make that big of a difference. He's gone through 3 years of testing, procedures, and hospitalizations. He's over it and so am I...so I'm fine with that. BTW, they have tested him for many of the more serious syndromes and he tested negative for those. Praise God! It's not like we are not concerned and don't want answers, but he's been through enough now. Should I have any future concerns they will address them at that time. Hopefully, that will never happen. He really is doing well.
Well, I think that's it. That's April in a nutshell. Goodbye April with all your showers. Welcome May! Now bring on the May flowers!
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6
