Just stopping by to say hello and to give a lil update....
Baby Girl had to be admitted back in the hospital earlier this week. On Monday, her nurses were feeding her and she vomited. The nurses thought that she may have aspirated it in through her trach. I don't really think she did, because her x-rays came back clear, but they wanted her taken to Children's for observation overnight. Overnight turned into 4 nights...so far.
They've decided to keep her extra time to try her on some new formula & a new med. Bry is a very tiny little girl. When we brought her home she was only 20.2 lbs which is very tiny for a 2 year old. So they started feeding her formula through a G-tube to help her grow. Ever since we came home from her last hospital trip she has been vomiting off & on (mostly at night during feeds) and they've adjusted her formula over and over and almost down to nothing, because she just can't tolerate it. So now, they've decided to try a new formula in hopes that she will tolerate it, not vomit it, and start growing. They are also putting her on a new med to help the food go faster through her system, although that doesn't make a lot of sense to me since we want her to grow, but I'm not a doctor. She is also on another med that is suppose to make her want to eat, and they have given her the max amount that they can give her and she still doesn't eat enough. This is our third hospitalization in two months and hopefully the third time will be the charm. Please keep praying for our girl. She has a hard time with this whole hospital thing. She hates it. She gets very upset when I have to leave her and I don't like to leave her, but it's very tough on me staying there 24/7. I have a hubby & kids at home that need me too. If only I could clone myself. I've been with her since Monday, but I had to come home today to take BB to Emory for his appointment.
Our BB is doing great!!!! We are learning sign language and trying to use it as often as we can with him. I've only learned a few words so far ,but I'm learning more & more every day. He is the sweetest foster baby we've ever had and we've had some sweet ones. He NEVER cries. Not even when he was his sickest. He is the happiest most smiling baby ever. He is cutting his 2nd tooth. He is starting to hold his head up & control it a little better. He is getting better with tummy time and he is starting to pull toys up to his mouth. He still has a long ways to go, but he has the best therapist any baby could ever ask for. They are working super hard with my babies and I couldn't be more pleased. They have become like family to us.
On Tuesday, I took Katie to see a maternal/ fetal diagnostic specialist. We've had some concerns about the health of Katie's baby. So her OB/GYN wanted her seen by a high risk doctor. They done a longer/better sonogram, blood study, and they decided to go ahead and do a amniocentesis. We are anxiously awaiting the results. The blood study and the sonogram looked great. From what the doctor could tell from these the baby is perfect. So hopefully the amio will set our minds at ease. Please Keep Katie & baby Kaylan in your prayers. She has been having contractions off & on ever since they done the amio so they are wanting her to take it easy because she is only 26 weeks. However, if it does come back and baby does have this condition, then they will have to admit Katie into the hospital and she will have to have IV meds for a few weeks. The treatment is very costly, but it has had some great results. We are just praying for a healthy baby girl & mommy.
Here is a peep at our precious *GRAND* baby miracle "Kaylan". She looks sooooo much like Brookelyn in this pic.
What else?!? hmmmm....
Ok, maybe a few more pics from the week.
We took Bry to church on Sunday and she was so proud to wear real shoes. It's amazing the things we take for granted every day. She was just happy to have shoes on instead of braces.
Precious little brown eyed girl.
