Happy First Birthday "R"!!!!
Our sweet little foster girl "R"
celebrated her very first birthday today!
Sorry, no face pics allowed of the fosters for now.
She had a fun birthday party surrounded by all of us and several friends. Her birth family paid for her party ,but they were not able to attend, but we made sure that she had a great birthday/party and that I took tons of pics for them. We even let her smash her cake and eat it! She loved the attention and especially the "Happy Birthday" song. It was just a sweet day. But, it was very sad for her whole birth family. It was hard for me to pick up her cake, decorations, balloons, gifts, etc from her birth family. They were all in tears because they couldn't share her special day. It broke my heart seeing them crying, especially the grandparents & great grandparents.

Also, her biggest birthday surprise was that her 2 year old sister came to live with us today!!! They are back together again:) We have been praying about this and I know it's going to be a lot ,but I truly believe that we've made the best decision.
However, on a sad note, the other foster family that had "K" had to say goodbye. They have a relative they are waiting on to pass away with cancer and due to that they were unable to keep fostering "K". Please pray for this family during this very sad & difficult time. The foster mom was in tears having to say goodbye today. I know how she feels. I've done it several times now and it's so hard when you have to tell a foster goodbye forever. We aren't suppose to allow ourselves to get so attached to these kids, but you can't help it. Especially when you have one that is just so precious and easy to love like "K" is.

What a special day for all of you! I imagine that was sad about the birth family...that would be hard for me to see also.
