One day in Howellville...

Today was a beautiful sunny day in Howellville.
I can't think of anything that grand to tell you about this day,
but all the little things added up to a
great big wonderful day
and boy it was nice.
It has been cold here for the last few days,
but today it warmed up,
so we spent most of our day
outside.
(Yes, that blue house tucked between those trees is our home)
That's our little dog. Her name is "mama"
She was a little stray we adopted.
I think she just may be the most loving
dog in the world.
That's my boy. His name is Jacob.
He is an outdoors kind of kid.
His favorite kind of day
is a day like today.
A day he can play and play
and just be a kid.

The flowers are blooming here!
Oh how I love flowers.
I just love spring.

I'm trying my thumb at growing fruit this year.
My hubby created this awesome strawberry patch for me.
I'm really excited about it.
Thanks Hubby!!!!!
I'm also growing blueberries. I can't wait until they are ripe.
My hubby is growing cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, squash, peppers, and okra.
We even decided to try out those hanging upside down planters...just for fun. We are growing the mini salad tomatoes in them.
Growing these put a smile on my face. They make me think of my nanny and something she said just the day before she passed. She was in and out all day. Her brothers had come to see her in the hospital and they were trying to communicate with her. Nanny always loved gardening so they tried to bring up something she might respond to. One of her brothers told her he was growing tomatoes in an upside down hanger instead of in a garden this year. Nanny opened her eyes and said, "Well how pitiful". I believe that may have been the very last words she ever spoke. But it makes me smile because we weren't sure if she was hearing what we were saying until she spoke up:)

Brookelyn's not very crazy about the chickens.
One of the "not so little" chickens
grabbed her finger.
I think it thought it was a worm.
Since then, Brookelyns not liked our chickens at all.
Did I ever tell you that we have a pet pig?
 "Porky"
We've had Porky for about 16 years now.
We bottle fed her because her mom got killed.
We are ready for cold weather,
but we don't want anymore for a  long while.
Hubby and our son Jon
have been busy splitting & stacking.
That's my other son "Jon"
He is almost a clone of his dad.
He is holding our punkin
Brookelyn Shae.
She was so happy that
it was finally a good day
to go out to play.

Our sweet Bailey called to remind us
that this is her weekend and she was ready
to get the weekend started.
So Uncle Brent went to pick her up today.

And when it was time to call it a day
this is what Brookelyn thought about it...

No need to be so sad sweet baby,
tomorrow is suppose to be even more beautiful
than today.
I hope you've all enjoyed this day
that God has given us.
