~As for me and my house we will serve the Lord ~ Joshua 24:15

Dec 14, 2010

A nice way to start the day...

Today, I woke up and read a few verses from the Bible. I've kinda continued from where our pastor left off on Sunday from the book of Isaiah.
Something Sam (another preacher in our church) said on Sunday stuck out to me as I was reading today. He said he had been asked why Jesus would be born in a stable. After all, Jesus' daddy is God and He owns and controls everything. But instead of being born in the finest hospital like most famous people are today, Jesus was born in a lowly stable. He was layed in a manger of wood filled with hay. But think about this...How does God refer to Jesus??? He refers to him as the lamb of God. A lamb is the most humble of all God's creatures and where are most lambs born??? In a stable. So the lamb of God was too! The one sent to change our lives and to save us from sin came in the most humble way possible and was born in the most humble of places. That just lets me know that He even cares for the least of the least. He cares about even the simple folks. He cares for all of us...even me:)
This morning it is bitter cold here. It was in the teens this morning and it now close to 20. Even with both fires going it is still cool in our house.
I started the day setting by the fire, with a warm homemade biscuit, and a cup of hot coffee:)
These are just a few of my favorite things
on a cold day like today.
You can see the heat coming out of the cup. I just started drinking coffee
and liking it in just the last few weeks. I've been buying the single cup folgers,
but I'm thinking about buying a coffee maker very soon:)

Our family's new favorite hangout.
I hope you have a wonderful day today
and don't ever forget that
God loves you.
