It's FINALLY Friday! I believe this may have been the longest week ever. It feels like every day this week had extra things I had to do and extra work added. I'm so ready for the weekend and I sure hope it drags by. I canceled Girl's Night Out tonight ,because I just want to stay home and spend it with my family...plus I am tired.
Here are some pictures & highlights from this week....
I want to start with Updates on Jelly Bean (our baby foster). We bought our own set of scales so we can weigh her more often. Today she weighs 10 pounds & 3 ozs, which means no weight loss from last week!!!! Yay!!!!! We are trying to wean her from the NG tube, and yet monitor her closely to be sure she gets enough nutrition and holds weight. She has done good about holding her weight this week, but she still doesn't eat as much as she should by mouth. She drinks about 2-3 ozs every 4-6 hours. She needs atleast 21 ozs a day to be free of the NG and so far she has only made that one day this week, but that's much better than the spoon full she was taking daily in the start. She is starting to get little chubby baby rolls,so she is growing and her size one diapers don't swallow her whole like before. However,I think her hair probably adds one pound...lol She has sooooo much hair. I have to pull it to the side because her bangs are getting long...I love it!
We have to keep a close eye and charts on her feeds everyday.
She has to be woke up and fed about every two hours or so
around the clock..which leaves one tired Aunt Sandy, but she is soooo
worth it. She is precious and it's been a blessing watching her bloom
from that tiny little fragile baby to the bubbly little baby she is now.
She is reaching for toys, blowing bubbles, pulling things to her mouth,
laughing out loud, and almost rolling over...so she is doing good!
We found something that she really loves. She loves taking walks in the stroller. We've been walking with her every evening. Jacob loves pushing her and it has been great exercise for me. I also started back on my diet this week...go me:) Now, if I can only give up the ice cream...lol
Jacob and Jelly Bean were watching TV together in the den floor last night. Jacob is just like his daddy about babies. He loves babies. Jelly Bean likes him too Notice her little feet? She always crosses her feet...she's a little lady:) This is one thing I noticed about her when we first got her.
We figured we would weigh miss Brookelyn too, while we had the scales out: :) She is 15 pounds and 8 ounces now! She seems so big next to Jelly Bean. They are 3 weeks apart and sooo different..
Then lil Devon wanted Aunt Sandy to weigh him too...lol He is a whole 23 lbs now (at 15 months). The scale was like a new toy to him. I think Brookelyn's going to catch up & pass him soon. He is so little and short.
I enjoyed having Trinton, Amberly, and Devon over today. I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to spend with them lately. They will always be my babies too. When they went home, their parents rented a house close to us. They moved about 4 minutes from us,but last month their parents bought a house and now they live a whole 2 minutes away! So I really enjoy having them close by and I love the relationship I have with their whole family. It's been a blessing... That is the way fostering should be.
Devon loves hats. He wore Jacob's all day and he kept pulling it down over his eyes and walking into everything...silly boy. I thought he was going to damage his brain bumping into everything.
He is one of the most precious little boys I've ever known. He has the calmest ,easy going personality I've ever known in a one year old. He is a good baby.
Amberly she is growing up so much. She is potty trained now and talking up a storm. She sings all the time and makes up her own songs to sing.... It's precious.
Jacob had some friends over.
It was wild having a house full of wild little boys.
All they wanted to do is play on the computer (club penguin)
and on the game systems and the rest of the time they were wrestling with each other...lol
You just gotta love boys.
We've spent most of the week searching for new vehicles. We have canceled our yearly vacation and cut back on pretty much everything for the last few months just to save money. My Hubby has been working one job and then leaving it to go to another job. I am blessed to have a Hubby who works hard to take care of us and to provide for all our needs.
Well, that's my week in a nut shell.
I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Prayer Request
My oldest son has been having some health concerns and has been going through several tests this week. I'm not really going to go into any detail right now, because honestly right now we do not know exactly what is going on with him. We are just praying that it is something minor that meds can fix,but we are having to wait until these last tests/scans come in. Just keep him in your prayers. Due to these health concerns, he had to cancel his trip to Florida. He was going to be going to Florida with some church members next week. However, until we know something, he can't do anything. So he is very disappointed.

Help me to invest my time in more
worthy pursuits, Lord, ones that
will provide lasting satisfaction.
I'm not sure what You will ask
of me,but I am willing to try anything
You recommend and give any resulting praise
to YOU.
I love reading your updates, Sandy - always so interesting. You have a wonderful family, and I think it's great that you can be involved in the lives of your foster children even after they go home! :) Praying for your son, too.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the baby with her feet crossed is absolutely adorable! You really have a LOT on your plate right now! I think of you often and will try to include your family in my prayers just as often.
ReplyDeletePrayers for a healthy report, but also healing.
ReplyDeleteRejoicing with the weight! Whoo hoo!
