Verse-1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Thoughts-
When we pray we say; use me Lord; I will go anywhere. Truth is sometimes we really mean use me Lord as long as it is in my community, in my comfortable circle of friends. We find excuses why we cannot visit those that are hospitalized, or in a nursing facility, or prison. Fact is many times we obey when we want to. We forget who is the Master and who is the servant. We get the attitude that God needs us. Well, He doesn't. If we refuse to do what He calls us to do heaven will not be shaken and His work will not fail. God gives us a choice. Whichever way we choose carries its own reward; blessing or curse it is up to us. Deuteronomy 11:26-28. Choosing to obey may be uncomfortable, we may not like it, it may mean going where we really don't want to go, loving those who are difficult and reject our love, forgiving the unforgivable. But we will reap the rewards of blessings.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sometimes it is hard to do what God wants us to do, sometimes we just need a wake up call, and sometimes we get a push, that lands us on our knees, and then we really seek the face of God. I wish you a good happy week.
ReplyDeleteI'm still learning to lean on the Lord's guidance through the storms. Holding onto Him is necessary, but often I want to control my own direction. That's when I sink.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a choice. I choose Him every day. :)
Hugs,
Sarah

ReplyDeleteVery nice! I like the first part of this. I know it is true, but sometimes I guess I don't step outside my own "box" and look at what I am doing. I have been trying to be more willing. Sometimes I fail miserably!
ReplyDeleteWell put. I struggle with God's path and my path all the time. It's often easy to justify my path as God's path, but I have to make it a choice to make it so. It's always good to have reminders such as these.
ReplyDeleteHow true....to obey is very hard, but the blessings when you do are amazing.....
ReplyDeletethank you

Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI love your devotional for today. It reminds me I must first listen to God's word and then do what He would want me to do not what I want to do.
