The Tree Is Up!

This year we decided to have a real tree.
It's been years since I've had one.
My parents have always had a real
tree and I miss that.
I love the smell,
it takes me back to home... in my mind.
So on Thursday, we took Jacob & Bailey
to pick us out a tree.
Bailey wanted the cute little tree
that she could tote in her arms.
Sorry Bailey:(
Jacob wanted the tree that we would
have to rent a truck to get...lol
Sorry lil man:(
Hubby & I couldn't decide on a tree.
So we told the man that worked there to
pick us a tree.
I told him I wanted it fluffy,
short, but not to short,
and one that will last
and still be beautiful on Christmas day.
I asked him to pick the
best he had...
After all, It's for Jesus birthday.
So he went in and out
and all around.
He looked & searched tree after tree.
He disappeared for a while
and then popped out with a tree
in hand.
It was just right:)
Thanks Mr Nice Man
you did a great job!!!!!
~~~~~~`
Maybe on my next post
I'll tell you about my
fake tree and where it's at today.
How did you spend your day?
Baby's First Christmas
Christmas For The First Time
~~~~~
You wander in wonder,
Your eyes open wide.
You've noticed the excitement,
and you must wonder why.
It's Christmas for the first time,
through your eyes.

You hear songs about Jesus,
 sleigh bells, and snow.
You try to sing along,
the best way you know.
I can't help but stop and rejoice,
I'm hearing about Christmas,
through your tiny voice.

You look out the window,
 how I wish it would snow.
Your eyes they just sparkle ,
from the candles bright glow.
You are learning that this is a special season,
and a baby named Jesus is the reason.

I hope this will be just the start,
and the love of Christmas
 will be planted in your heart.
 I want to savor each moment with you,
Because a first Christmas is special
and you are too.

Our Christmas Guest Has Arrived!

He arrived today and the kids are all excited about our Christmas guest. Jacob gave him the name "Elfy" and we registered him at the North Pole today. He has taken his place on the shelf in our den and he is watching everything the children are doing, so that he can report back to Santa. Check back often to see how Elfy is spending his day. http://www.elfontheshelf.com/

Where did 21 years go?????

What happened to this beautiful little baby?
She was so tiny and so perfect from head to toe.
She was better and more beautiful
than I ever imagined a child could be.
She entered my world on Dec 2, 1989
and from that day on I have never been the same.
But what happened to this little baby???
Where is she today????
She grew up!!!!
She grew up fast...tooooo fast.
But that's okay, because she is even
more beautiful and amazing today.
Happy 21st birthday Anna.
I am so proud of you and I love you more
and more every day.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday.
Love, Mom

Cream Cheese Tarts

My best friend made these for our family on Thanksgiving. However, she called them cupcakes, but after looking more into the recipe I believe these are better labeled as tarts. They are so good and addictive. After learning how easy these are to make, I made them for my Mom's  Thanksgiving night. If you love cream cheese then you will LOVE these.

Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 eggs
12 vanilla wafers
1 (21 ounce) can of pie filling for topping (Cherry, strawberry,or blueberry)

Directions:
Prep Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
2 Place a paper cupcake liner in each cup (12 total) of muffin pan.
3 Beat cream cheese with electric mixer until fluffy. Add sugar and vanilla, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
4 Place a vanilla wafer FLAT side down, in each muffin cup. Spoon cream cheese mixture over wafers filling each to about 1/4 inch from top of paper.
5 Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
6 Allow tarts to cool completely before filling. When you remove the tarts from the oven, they will be puffed up, but as they cool, the center will sink, creating the perfect well to fill with a couple of spoonfuls of your favorite filling.
7 Chill thoroughly before serving.
