It's time for a little good news. We've had enough bad to last us for a loooong time.
Happy Good Friday!
Today was a good day for us. We FINALLY signed the papers on BB. We met with our case worker and our adoption worker today and signed the paper of intentions to adopt. We also signed the conversion papers to have our home status changed from a foster home to an adoption home. Basically that means we are fostering to adopt and nolonger a foster home (we are not accepting any new foster kids at this time).
The goal for adoption completion (our adoption worker said) is May. I seriously doubt it will be complete in May, but hopefully in June it will and our little BB with become Joshua B Howell!
This month BB has started doing so many new things. These may seem so small to most but BB has came a looooooong ways in his development this month. We are so proud of him and every accomplishment big and small.
This month...
He is putting more weight on his legs so hopefully one day he will pull up and walk. He is pushing forward more on his tummy, so maybe he will crawl soon. He recognizes strangers from family (he is bashful around strangers). However, we took him to see the Easter Bunny and he didn't even cry. He notices animals now and he is scared of dogs & cats. He reaches for you if he wants you and turns away if he don't want you. He shakes his head "no" when he don't want something. He has started eating some solids but only very tiny pieces of food at a time (crumb sized bites). He has started to drink some from a sippy cup and is doing pretty good. He still strangles & chokes very easily but his therapists are working hard on that. He reaches for everything and has become all hands. It's almost impossible to make him a bottle or to talk on the phone while holding him because he grabs. He gained a whole pound.
He is the sweetest little boy you could ever ask for and we are the lucky family God placed him with.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6
