Yesterday, BB was admitted into Children's to have some scans done & to have some tests run. We got great results. The scans showed that his liver & spleen are still enlarged, but the Doc believes that it may be due to all the scarring from when BB was so very sick in the start. He said BB looks good (his color) and he is growing steady. He weighs 19 lbs & 5 ozs (25th %) and his height is 29 inches (50%). So he is doing really good in his growth. We won't have his labs back for a few days but I truly believe those too will be good news. He doesn't want to release BB just yet from his care but we don't have to re-do these tests for a year (yay!!!!).
BB still can't eat anything thicker than stage two baby food. He can only handle the very thin ones like carrots, green beans, peaches, pears, and apples. The thicker ones gag him & cause him to vomit. We are not sure if this is just a developmental thing (due to prematurity), oral aversion, an overly sensitive gag reflex, or something else, so Dr K is sending us to have a swallow study done.
Overall, I think we are moving in the right direction. We are praising God for what He has done and doing in our baby's life.
And the good news keeps coming...
Our sweet boy learned to tummy crawl today!!!!!
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he will direct thy paths. ~Proverbs 3:5-6
