Baby Pictures!

Pictures from Anna's sonogram today
taken at Baby's 1st Images.
She is 26 weeks & 5 days now!
Sweet Lil Brookelyn Shae
MeMe can't wait to meet you:)
I'll be adding more over on my baby updates blog:)

Disturb Us Lord...

Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.

The Starfish Story

Proverbs 3:27
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due,
when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

The Starfish Story

An old man was walking along the beach and saw
a young boy throwing something back into the water
As he got closer, he could see that the objects were starfish.

"Why in the world are you throwing starfish into the water?"

"If the starfish are still on the beach when the tide goes out and the sun
rises high in the sky, they will die." replied the young boy.

"That is ridiculous. There are thousands of miles of beach and millions
of starfish. You can't really believe that what you're doing could possibly
make a difference?"

The young boy picked up another starfish, paused thoughtfully, and
remarked as he tossed it out into the waves,

"It makes a difference to this one."

Today's Devotion

Verse-1 Peter 2:18-20

Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Thoughts-
One of the most effective ways we can demonstrate that we have new life through Jesus Christ is to endure wrongs and injustice with patience. Being patient when you are hit with those undeserving blows. Enduring the injustice without losing your temper or attempting to retaliate. These are the times when the grace of God is very evident in our lives. "Where the rubber meets the road" Jesus suffered injustice and asked His heavenly Father to forgive them. He did not retaliate or get even with them. Neither did He hold a grudge and carry hatred and bitterness around with Him. He is our example and He is the one who enables us to do the same. In and of ourselves it is impossible; our human nature has a "get even, not fair," mindset. We can overcome our natural reactions; through Jesus Christ who enables us to express God's reactions. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. It is through Him and His ability and strength and wisdom that we are able to endure all things patiently.

Today's Devotion

Verse-1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Thoughts-
We would never be able to carry around all the material possessions we have come to acquire in our lifetime. It would be impossible. Yet this is what we do with our emotions, when we just refuse to let go of yesterday's mistakes and hurts. Then to add to an already heavy load, we take on the worries of tomorrow. God does not intend for us to carry such a heavy load. Jesus said in Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. He desires to fill us with joy and peace regardless of what our day holds. His love, joy and perfect peace, are available to us today in the midst of whatever we may be experiencing. We insist on carrying the extra baggage and wonder why we can't receive a break through, and why we continue to be trapped in a cycle of hopelessness. Where is our joy and our peace? There is simply no room for it, with all the other stuff we are dragging around with us. Jesus desires to take our fear, worry, disappointments, our past, and all that would hinder us from experiencing his perfect peace in the midst of any circumstance. We just need to be determined to let go of it, and allow Him the opportunity to step in and carry it for us.

Today's Devotion

Verse-Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Thoughts-
Christ lives within us every day, not simply on Sunday or when we gather with a particular group of people. In our society today it is hard for many to remain true to themselves and their moral standards at all times. It's all too easy to bend a little to "fit in". God does not require us to "fit in" He does however require us to follow the truth as we have been shown any less is unacceptable. Even within Church's there are those who compromise truth for money, status, or popularity. They give in to obtain a small thing now, enjoying a moment of satisfaction and all the while forfeiting their greatest treasure. It is quite possible that those faithfully standing in the shadows never having spoke or sang in huge auditoriums or for the most part never recognized will be just the ones who accomplished the most, simply because they remained true to themselves and their God. Their prayers and sacrifice's may never be seen or heard by men but they certainly have not gone unseen by God.

Here is my resignation

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided that I would like to accept the
responsibilities of an 8 year old again.
I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle
and make ripples with rocks.
I want to think M&M's are better than money because you can eat them.
I want to lie under a big tree and run a
lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple.
When all you knew was colors, multiplication tables,
and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you,
because you didn't know what you didn't know
and you didn't care.
All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully
unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.
I want to think the world is fair.
That everyone is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life
and be overly excited by the little things again.
I want to live simple again.
I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes,
mountains of paperwork, depressing news,
how to survive more days in the month
than there is money in the bank,

doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.
I want to believe in the power of smiles,
hugs, justice, a kind word, truth, peace, dreams, love,
the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.

So....here's my checkbook,
my wallet, my car-keys,

my credit cards and my 401K statements.
I am officially resigning from adulthood.
And if you want to discuss this further,
you'll have to catch me first, cause,
"Tag! You're It."

The Father's Love Letter

Dear Child of Mine,
You may not know me,but I know everything about you (Psalm139:1). I know when you sit down and when you rise up (psalm 139:2). I am familiar with all your ways (psalm 139:3). Even the very hairs on your head are numbered (Matthew 10:29-31). For you were made in my image (Gen 1:27). In me you live and move and have your being (acts 17:28). For you are my offspring (act 17:28). I knew you even before you were conceived (Jer 1:4-5). I chose you when I planned creation (Eph 1:11-12).You were not a mistake (Psalm 139:15-16). For all your days are written in my book (Psalm 139:15-16). I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live (acts 17:26). You are fearfully and wonderfully made(psalm 139:14). I knit you together in your mothers womb(psalm 139:13). And brought you forth on the day you were born (psalm 71:6). I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me(john 8:41-44). I am not distant and angry,but am the complete expression of love(1 John 4:16). And it is my desire to lavish my love on you(1 john 3:1). Simply because you are my child and I am your father(1 john 3:1). I offer you more than your earthly father ever could(matt 7:11). For I am the perfect father(matt 5:48). Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand(James 1:17). For I am your provider and I meet all your needs(Matt 6:31-33). My plan for your future has always been filled with hope(Jer 29:11). Because I love you with an everlasting love(Jer 31:3). My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore(psalm 139:17-18). And I rejoice over you with singing(Zeph 3:17). I will never stop doing good to you(Jer 32:40). For you are my treasured possession(Exodus 19:5). I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul(Jer 32:41). And I want to show you great and marvelous things(Jer 33:3). If you seek me with all your heart,you will find me(Deuteronomy 4:29). Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). For it is I who gave you those desires(Phillippians 2:13). I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine(Eph 3:20). For I am your greatest encourager(2 Thess 2:16-17). I am also the father who comforts you in all your troubles(2 Cor 1:3-4). When you are brokenhearted,I am close to you(psalm 34:18.) As a shepherd carries a lamb,I have carried you close to my heart(Isaiah 40:11). One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes(Rev 21:3-4). And I'll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth(rev 21:4). I am your father and I love you even as I love my son,Jesus(John 17:23). For in Jesus my love for you is revealed(john 17:26). He is the exact representation of my being(Hebrews 1:3). And he came to demonstrate that I am for you and not against you(Romans 8:31). And to tell you that I am not counting your sins(2 Cor 5:18-19). Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled(2 Cor 5:18-19). His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you (1 John 4:10). I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love(Romans 8:32). If you receive the gift of my son Jesus,you receive me(1John 2:23). And nothing will ever separate you from my love again(Romans 8:38-39). Come home and I'll throw you the biggest party heaven has ever seen(Luke 15:7.) I have always been father and will always be father(Eph 3:14-15.) My question is...will you be my child?(John 1:12-13) I am waiting for you.(Luke 15:11-32)
With love,
Your Dad (Almighty God)

Today's Devotion

Verse-Psalm 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Thoughts-
People naturally have a tendency to work on their “image”, in order to receive a favorable response from others. We all desire to be accepted and loved. Hollywood Stars will many times hire professional image consultants, who will reshape their appearance and attitudes to present an image that is acceptable, and one that will gain them the recognition they desire. Somewhere in all the “image building” integrity, character, and respect are lost. It is much easier and less stressful, to simply be ourselves. Being exactly who Jesus Christ is creating us to be. Trying to live two lives often leads to a life full of lies and deception. It is not an image consultant that we need, but wisdom to be true to ourselves and true to God. We can make excuses and rationalize what we are doing, but God’s perception is not affected by the images we try to present. He sees past all of it and into the depths of our souls.

Crossroads

Sometimes we come to life's crossroads and
View what we think is the end,
But God has a much wider vision and
He knows it's only a bend --
The road will go on and get smoother, and
After we've stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us is
Often the part that is best.
So rest and relax and grow stronger
Let go and let God share your load,
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow
You've just come to a bend in the road.

1000 Signatures By Friday

We need your help.
We are trying to get 1000 signatures by Friday
and I would like to ask you all to help us do just that.
Please take a moment and read this family's story and then take
another minute to add your signature.

On June 1, 2009, Wyatt Nathaniel Finchum, was born at 10:03 a.m. He had a faint heartbeat and was breathing, which was a miracle, because doctors had told his parents that they would probably never see him alive. He did live for two precious minutes. However, due to Tennessee's definition of live birth, the doctor was not able to medically acknowledge his life. He was listed as stillborn. His parents won't deny the fact that their son was dying as soon as he was born, but he lived... he fought to breathe for those two minutes and his life deserves to be acknowledged. His parents would like to get Tennessee's definition of live birth amended to a more acceptable definition that recognizes life no matter how short it may be.

Are you willing to make a difference today?

Please take one minute and sign your name.

Today's Devotion

Verse-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

Thoughts-Have you ever wondered how a loving God could allow people to suffer and die? Has the thought ever crossed your mind that if you were God you would prevent all the evil and suffering in the world? God permits some things to happen because they serve His purpose. His ways are not our ways. Our vision is so limited, but God sees and understands all. That is why He asks us to walk by faith and not by what we see. 2 Corinthians 5:7 He comforts us and lets us know that all things work together for good to those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 Lazarus was a close friend of Jesus and when he became ill his sisters sent a message to Jesus; they were sure that he loved them and their brother as much as they knew He had the power to heal him. They had witnessed first hand many times the miracles He performed. I can imagine how they felt as they waited and watched Lazarus die, wondering where Jesus was, thinking surely he will come. They most likely felt forgotten and disappointed. Jesus knew what was happening yet when He received the message He knowingly stayed behind for the purpose of glorifying God. If we could begin to understand who Jesus really is and what our lives are really about, we will see that He is the resurrection and the life and no matter what we face He can be trusted, and that our faith is secure in Him. We all want a story with a happy ending. We want to be victorious and not defeated. We love to hear those who testify how they overcame. But it does not always appear that way, because we are not looking through the eyes of faith. Faith is the reality of who Jesus is. Lazarus was permitted to die so that others would witness the miracle and believe. The purpose was of great importance. It is the same with whatever situation we face today. It is for His purpose and His glory. Praise God for the happy endings, but also praise God when the situation seems hopeless. Remember there is none greater than our God and our lives are in His control; we have willingly surrendered them into His hands. Jesus did not fear death or ridicule He always trusted in the will of the Father. He could not have been crucified had it not been God's will and God's time and for a purpose. A purpose I am sure many could not understand at the time; but I thank God that He accomplished His purpose. He will accomplish what He has purposed in all the situations in our life; if our faith will look past what we understand and see with our eyes; we will witness the glory and the purpose.

Today's Devotion

Verse- James 1:21
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Thoughts-
Our way of thinking creates our attitude and character. Our attitude is influenced by different sources; all the things we see and hear on a daily basis, certainly have an impact. They are not always positive. It is vital that we continually seek God’s word, as our prime source for thinking, allowing His word to become so deeply rooted within our hearts it supercedes all else. All it takes is one small seed of anger, bitterness, envy or jealousy to eventually develop into a change of heart. It is God’s word applied to our daily challenges, which will revive and refresh our hearts and souls. We may not even be aware of our attitude changes until they manifest themselves and explode in the midst of our day. We have a choice to either confess and surrender our hearts to God, or we can continue to water the seeds of our sour attitudes, until they manifest into an ungrateful and bitter heart.

Update @6:32 PM
Samantha went back to the Dr again this afternoon and they done more tests and this time a sonogram and they confirmed she did miscarry. I don't understand why they didn't do these tests to start with so that she wouldn't have gotten her hopes up that all was well.
But anyhow, all is not well ,and I'm just so sad for Samantha. However,we've just got to trust that God had a purpose for this and even though these things are hard to understand we just got to except that this is His will. Thank you for your prayers for her. I really do appreciate it. ((hugs)) sandy

~~~~~~
Please continue to keep Samantha in your prayers. She went back today and they said her levels had dropped ,which meant most likely she is having a miscarriage. As you can imagine,it's tough news to hear. Thanks for all your prayers. ((hugs)) Sandy
Wordless Wednesday
Hubby & Lil Man "Devon" watching TV together:)
Today's Devotion
Verse-Colossians 1:16-17
For by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Thoughts-
Becoming self-absorbed causes us to become not only stationary but also stagnate. The harsh, but real fact is that life is not all about us and our personal fulfillment. If we aren’t careful, we will find ourselves beginning to seek the promises, instead of the promise Maker. Life is not always great, we can find ourselves, on more than one occasion uncomfortable, hurt and broken. This does not mean God is lacking. On the contrary, God’s desire is to create us in the image of Christ. It is a process that takes a lifetime. During this process, there are many different roads we will travel, some of which we may not like, but all the same they are beneficial to our growth. God is not our servant, but we are to serve Him. It is instinctive to our nature, to desire control over our own destiny. We want to be in charge of our circumstances, and the people around us. It is only when we learn to submit to the authority of God, we truly begin to understand, that every circumstance is an instrument of instruction. The wisdom of His plan for our lives, reaches beyond what we can think or imagine.
Prayer Request
Hey prayer buddies,
I need to ask you to all pray for one of my kids "Samantha". She found out last week that she is expecting and everything seemed to be going just fine ,until yesterday.
She started showing some signs that something may be going wrong, so she went to the ER. They didn't really do anything ,but check her levels. They said that her levels were great...actually higher than normal. They assured her that she was just fine and sent her home.
But, last night and today things seemed to have gotten worse than yesterday. So she went to her OB/GYN and they tested her levels and they said that they had went up even more...which is a good sign that she isn't having a miscarriage.
So we just don't know what to think right now. We want to believe everything is okay with the baby,but we are worried that it's not.
As some of you know my other daughter had a miscarriage back in December and she done the same thing and had the same signs that something was wrong. So we are just worried.
She will be going back again tomorrow to be tested again to see if it goes up more. Please keep her in your prayers.
Aint He so amazing????!!!!
Thank you God for taking care of your child.
From One Pumpkin To Another
A woman was asked by a coworker,
'What is it like to be a Christian?'
The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.'
God picks you from the patch,
brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new
smiling face and puts His light inside of you
to shine for all the world to see.'
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.
I would hope that I would not have a single bit
Today's Devotion
Verse-Psalm 136:1
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Thoughts-
It is good to remember again and again, what the Lord has done for you, to thank Him daily, for all His benefits. It ignites our faith and brings hope into our day. It’s a reminder, His compassion is never ending and His mercy is new each and every morning. We know the blessings God has brought into our lives, but remembering them each day, brings them alive again in our hearts and our souls. He forgives us. He has healed us. He makes His ways known to us. He comforts us. He has extended mercy towards us. He has redeemed our lives. He is our protector. He has set us free and He satisfies our souls like no other. Waking up to face another day, remembering all the blessings and greatness of our God, will most certainly cause it to be brighter. Reminding ourselves that it is Jesus Christ, who is the one in whom we trust and place our hope.
Thank you God!!!!
Thank you God!!!! You are just so good to us. You provide for us when we can't provide for ourselves. You are a Father that never neglects your children. You are a Father who understands what we can't understand. You hear our cries and you answer our prayers just when we need it. Thank you God!!!! I can't thank Him enough.
Once more, He provided for our needs...
My van quit on us tonight on the side of a dark dangerous road. It was hubby, me ,and Jacob we were coming back from Jacob's practice and the van just shut off. We managed to get the van off the road . We didn't have our cell phones to call for help because mine is messed up and Brent's was in his truck. So we had no choice, but for hubby to get out and knock on doors, in hopes of borrowing some one's phone to call for help. He went door to door,but no one would answer their doors. I could see him walking from the light of our flashers and I just went to praying. Within a couple of minutes, a vehicle came by and stopped up above us on the opposite side of the road. It had it's flashers on too. I thought, how strange that another car broke down in the same area...that wasn't the case. It had stopped up the road from us ,because where we were there was no safe place to stop. It was a lady from our church. I don't know her that well, but she recognized my van. She said she just knew that she needed to come back...so she did. I know it was God that turned her around. She said she never travels that road ,but tonight she decided to take that road home instead...I thank God that she did!!!!!! She brought us home and a friend of Brent's went and got our van off the road and brought it home too.
God amazes me. He always seems to show up just when this family needs him most. He is sooooooo good to us and always has been:) And tonight I just want to thank Him!!!!! Thank Him for sending us help and for getting us safely home. God is good!!! He's so good to me:)
Do You Know How It Feels?
Do you ever wake up with a song in your head/heart
and you can't help but sing it over and over???
That's how I've been today.
I've been doing some fall cleaning these past few days
and I always seem to hum or sing when I clean.
Anyhow, here is the lyrics to a song on my heart:)
I pray all of you know how it feels:)
~~~~~
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO KNOW SOME THING'S MISSING
AND HEAR A STILL SMALL VOICE THAT YOU JUST KEEP DISMISSING
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE TROUBLED INSIDE
AND TO THINK JUST FOR YOU ON THE CROSS SOMEONE DIED
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN HE KNOCKS TO SURRENDER
HAVE YOUR SINS WASHED AWAY NEVER TO BE REMEMBERED
AND KNOW THAT IT'S REAL
TELL ME DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS.
~~~~~
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN YOU'RE COLD HEART HAS MELTED
AND TEARS STARTED FLOWING THE MOMENT YOU FELT IT
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO KNOW YOU'VE BEEN CHANGED
AND IT SEEMS THAT YOUR WHOLE WORLD HAS BEEN REARRANGED
DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEREVER YOU ROAM
YOU STILL GET A FEELING YOU'RE NOT AT HOME
KNOWING HEAVEN IS REAL
TELL ME DO YOU, DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS
~CHORUS ~
THEN HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW YOU'RE A CHILD OF THE KING
YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER OWNS EVERYTHING
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW YOU ARE LOVED
BY THE ONE WHO CREATED THE STARS UP ABOVE
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO KNOW YOU'RE ALL RIGHT
WHEN YOU LAY YOUR HEAD ON YOUR PILLOW EACH NIGHT
AND KNOW THAT IT'S REAL
AIN'T IT GOOD TO KNOW HOW IT FEELS.
~~~~~
Yes, I'm having a happy morning and just
over flowing with joy:)
